Company Profile
Environment Policy
Eurolight is committed in its quest to reduce the organisations impact on both the local and global environment to a level that is as low as practicable. This will be achieved by the minimisation of resource usage and waste disposal regarding product manufacture, (through the development of more ‘environmentally friendly’ product) and also by the efficient and effective use of energy, consumables, packaging and equipment within the organisation to the benefit of it workforce and the general wellbeing of the community.
Wee Directive
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) imposes the responsibility for the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) on the manufacturers of such equipment. |
 |
| We are registered with the UK Environment Agency under unique reference number RM05882. In accordance with the requirement of the WEEE directive, we are obliged to register with a ‘compliance scheme’ which undertakes the physical collection and recycling of WEEE labelled products. We will accept returns of our products at our Monmouth premises for recycling via an approved agency, as and when we have accumulated sufficient volume to make it viable. |
RoSH Compliance
The Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union. The directive which took effect on July 1, 2006 restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.
RoSH is often referred to as the lead-free directive, but it restricts the use of the following six substances:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Hexavalent chromium
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB_
- Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
As a result the directive affects businesses which manufacture, sell, distribute and recycle, electrical and electronic equipment which contain the above substances.
At Eurolight we believe it is important to comply with the directive and we aim to eliminate all banned substances from our manufactured products. To that end all of our manufacturing partners are RoSH compliant. |
